Overview
The Grand Final edition of the AFL Record is a collector’s item, with the 244-page magazine featuring profiles of players and the coach from each team, all the key statistics and a full match preview. It also includes a summary of the season and reviews of each club.
This year's Grand Final Record also includes a host of feature stories, including several premiership heroes from yesteryear: Hawthorn's Peter Knights, North Melbourne's Wayne Schimmelbusch, Essendon's Jack Jones, Melbourne's Noel McMahen, Collingwood's Ron Richards and Geelong's Bill McMaster. It is also 10 years since the Brisbane Lions won the first of their three successive premierships and the Record talks to key Lions from that game including coach Leigh Matthews, Alastair Lynch and Jason Akermanis.
There are two editions of the Grand Final AFL Record. The newsstand edition is on sale nationally in the lead-up to the big game while the match-day edition features the selected teams and a review of the Brownlow Medal, plus any late-breaking news from the AFL and the clubs.
